Continuing my current “blog fest”, this time around I’m featuring the last of my October weddings from the back end of last year. Fully recharged from a cheeky week away in Kos, I was back once again at the fabulous Cornhill Castle, this time to shoot Vicky & Gemma’s big day!
I shoot at lot at Cornhill – it’s not as though I’m even local, such is the 60 mile, 1hour 15 min journey, but it just seems to be the way with some venues. Perhaps it’s the snowball effect – shoot one, blog it, Facebook it etc, other couples see it, like it (hopefully), book you, I shoot that, blog that etc etc … and so it goes round! Who knows and regardless of all that, I love the place and the more the merrier I say.
The wet October weather that had impacted my other two weddings that month was still in evidence, although not quite as bad, so we did manage to get outside for a few shots before dinner. And, you know, sometimes a wee bit of drizzle can be a benefit, especially after dark when I’m able to “light it up” so to speak – boy, I love these kind of shots. And fair play to the guys for braving the conditions (although in reality it wasn’t quite as wet as it looks).
What a fabulous day all round and, as usual, I’ll leave the pictures to tell the story of the day. In fact, so much do I love some of the couple shots we did throughout the day, I really (and I mean “really”) struggled with choosing the one for the cover shot, so I do hope you like the one I landed on … eventually!

Need A Ninja?
If you’re on the look-out for a wedding photographer (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!
My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short couple shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast!

I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2025 & 2026 but do still have some limited availability for this year too … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times.
