More adventures in “blogland” today guys and you know when you hit November you’re pretty much in the home straight as far as wedding season is concerned – just the two in November for me last year but what brilliant days they were … and very different too!
So, for the first then, I was back at the wonderful Edinburgh Zoo to shoot Victoria and Alex’s big day. The guys had travelled all the way over from Massachusetts with their close family and friends to celebrate in Scotland’s capital, and what a glorious day we got too – blazing sunshine all day long … probably as good as you could get for November … especially in Scotland!
When I tell people that I’ve been shooting a wedding at Edinburgh Zoo, there is sometimes a reaction of bemusement, as of course it’s not your typical wedding venue, or is it? So here’s the thing, tucked away at the back of the zoo, up the hill (the steep hill), is the very fabulous Mansion House which is very much indeed suited for weddings … such a fabulous setting! And then you also have the bonus of being able to get out and about around the zoo for pictures with the animals … always a wee challenge as naturally they never play ball and pose to order!!! But good fun trying though … and we did get some including, luckily, the giant pandas before they headed off back to China a short time after.
What a fabulous day all round and, as usual, I’ll leave the pictures to tell the story of the day.

Need A Ninja?
If you’re on the look-out for a wedding photographer (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!
My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short couple shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast!

I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2025 & 2026 but do still have some limited availability for this year too … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times.
