“Rossie On The Earn” Wedding (+ Showreel) : Zara & Laurie

More wedding stories for you guys and this time around I’m featuring my penultimate wedding of last year when, on a glorious November day, I made my first ever trip up to Rossie on the Earn to shoot Zara & Laurie’s big day.

I love shooting at new venues. Whilst there’s always a comfort in the familiarity of working at the same venues time and time again, there’s also a danger of regurgitating the same shots over and over (just with different couples), hence the reason why I never align myself with any specific venues – variety is the spice of life and I love it that way! A new venue just offers that something a little different, a little bit of “je ne sais quoi” in terms of what to expect … and it keeps me on my toes!

So what of the day then? Well, you know, sometimes everything just aligns and falls into place and that was, from my perspective anyway, the way things panned out this very time … even right down to the sun setting as we were wrapping up the short couple shoot … who doesn’t love a sunset backdrop! Honestly, one of my favourite weddings from last year!!! It would be amiss of me though not to give a big shout out to Danny at TLC who did set up some of the couple shots that I then kind of “piggybacked” on to – thanks man!

What an amazing day and, as usual, I’ll leave the pictures to tell the story. And, as a wee bonus guys, I’ve also created a showreel for this one … scroll down a bit for a look!!!

Zara & Laurie, thank you very much for choosing me to shoot your fabulous wedding day! Here’s a few of my own favourite shots which I hope you all like.

Please do leave a comment though … it’s very much appreciated 🙂 – there’s a comment box right at the end of the pics!

Scotland’s Top Ranked Wedding Photojournalist

If you’re on the look-out for a wedding photographer (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!

My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short couple shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast!

For the second year running, I’ve been recognised as Scotland’s No.1 ranked photographer with the WPJA (both photojournalism and artistic categories), UK Top 10 and World Top 50.

Not sure if this is for you? This should help you decide.

I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2025 & 2026 but do still have some limited availability for this year too … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times.

Would love to hear from you!
