Autumn … definitely my favourite time of the year for shooting weddings. The colours, the mix of daylight before dinner and darkness after, the low sun in the sky … just great conditions to work with and, this year, my favourite season kicked off with a visit to the Redhurst Hotel to shoot Megan & Scott’s big day!
Typically, I shot the day in my usual documentary “ninja-like” style, breaking away only briefly for a few group shots and a couple of super quick couple shoots, one before and one after dinner, the latter of course using the darkness (and my lights) to create a wee bit of drama to the shots – those backlit darkness shots have kind of become my trademark (if that’s the right word) over the years and I totally love doing them!
Megan & Scott, it was great to be with you all on your amazing day shooting your wedding photography at the Redhurst Hotel and thank you very much for choosing me! Here’s a few of my own favourite shots which I hope you all like.
Please feel free to leave a comment if you like … it’s very much appreciated 🙂 – there’s a comment box right at the end of the pics!

Looking for Redhurst Hotel Wedding Photography … or anywhere for that matter?
If you’re getting married (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!
My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short couple shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast! World Top 10 Photographer
For the past three years, I’ve been recognised by the WPJA as Scotland’s top ranked wedding photojournalist, so you know you’re in safe hands. And, last year, I was very honoured to be ranked as one of the Top 10 Photographers in the World in their Artistic Guild category … thank you guys!
I’m now taking bookings for 2026 & 2027 but, these days, I do only shoot around 20 weddings per year so dates can be very limited especially during the summer months. So do get in touch asap guys to check my availability.
