If you asked me where I would ideally choose to do a couple shoot on a wedding day, pretty high on my list would be a beach on the west coast of Scotland. Why? Well, it’s a beach for a start and who doesn’t love those, plus, being on the west coast you get the sunset too (as long as it’s a clear day LOL). Throw in some islands in the background et volia!
Seamill Hydro has long been one of my favourite venues, ticking all the above boxes as it does! And having been here many times now since my first visit back in 2016, it never disappoints … whatever the weather :-). So how pleased was I to be back here a couple of times this year, the first of which was to shoot Ainsley & Stewart’s big day, part one of yet another wedding “double header” weekend, my second on the spin! And what glorious weather yet again!
Par for the course, I shot the day in my low-key, hands-off, documentary style, intervening only briefly for a few group shots and a short couple shoot on the beach after dinner … just the way I love to shoot these days … allows me the time to observe and shoot (artistically, of course LOL) and keeps you guys with the party all day, for the most part anyway!
Enough waffle though, on with the pictures …

Need A Ninja?
If you’re on the look-out for a wedding photographer (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!
My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short couple shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast!

I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2024 & 2025 but do still have some limited availability for this year too … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times.
