“Seamill Hydro” Wedding : Hannah & Ryan

Well, 2023 here we are and a Happy New Year to one and all. Of couse, a new year always brings a fresh amount of optimism … will I end up as Scotland’s No.1 ranked WPJA wedding photojournalist? Will I ever shoot a destination wedding? Will I ever win a Fearless award? Will Spurs ever win a trophy LOL? The answer to those is possibly, fingers crossed, maybe and, of course, not very likely LOL … in that order … but you keep on hoping!!!

Continuing then with my journey in documenting last year’s weddings and, come August, I was definitely well into my busiest period of the year when I made the trip west to the fabulous Seamill Hydro for Hannah & Ryan’s big day, the first of an amazing weekend “double header” in some totally glorious weather :-).

As usual, my day started with the bridal prep at the house before moving on to St. Filan’s Church in Houston (no, not Texas for those outside Scotland) for the ceremony. A few quick shots in the gardens afterwards and then we were off to Seamill – the West coast, honestly, you can’t beat it for sunsets when you get the right weather, with the stunning views over to Arran. Ooh, take me back :-).

Good people, as usual, I will let the pictures tell the story of this fabulous day …

Hannah & Ryan, thank you very much for choosing me to shoot your big day! Here’s a few of my own favourite shots which I hope you all like.

Looking for “Documentary” Wedding Photography?

If you’re on the look-out for a wedding photographer (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!

My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short bride & groom shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast!

I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2024 but do still have some limited availability for this year too … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times.

Full day coverage collections start at £1800 … but don’t forget my cheeky wee discount where you can save up to £500 :-).

Oh, and please do feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of the page, as I do really love to know what you think :-).

Mike :-).
