First blog post of the week today (and probably the last)…I’m really slacking after last week’s marathon! Anyway, that aside, I have for you today some images from Yurisa & John’s wedding at Solsgirth House from back in September. It’s not often that I turn up on a wedding day never having met either the bride or groom but, circumstances dictated that today was such a day. Not that that’s ever an issue really :-). Yurisa is from the States and visa issues, I seem to recall, had prevented the guys from getting over here until the 11th hour…but all’s well that ends well.
I love shooting weddings at Solsgirth; one of my favourite venues. I thought I knew pretty much every nook and crannie of the place until today; mid morning I took a wander up a staircase that had been cordoned off, only to find a disused part of the building with just the most amazing light coming in from the skylight above. So, risking the wrath of the Solsgirth staff I just had to take Yurisa up there for some bridal shots pre-ceremony…gorgeous! The staff weren’t too pleased with me though when they saw me coming back down…all in the name of art guys!
Yurisa & John, a big thank you for asking me to photograph your special day. Loved all the colours on show and traditional dress – really made for some eye-catching images. Here’s just a few of my own favourites – honestly, I could have picked a lot more (had to stop myself). The full set can be found in the online gallery (password required).
If you like these images, please do leave a comment or two at the bottom of the post as it’s always very much appreciated. Plus, what would be really fantastic, is a “Like” on my Facebook page as it’s always great to get new people on board.

Thank you Vino and Kallisti. I’m really pleased you like these pictures – really was a great day.
Hi Mike, The pictures are fantastic……. I have had lots of comments from family and friends and they all say the same thing,’Everyone looks really happy and enjoying themselves and although some weren’t at the wedding they were completly drawn in by the photos they felt they were there’. I thought being the mother of the groom that was a lovely statement to make and I totally agree, you captured everyone at their happiest. My son and new daughter in law and our families had a truly great day and you captured it as it was. As they say ‘every picture tells a story’. Many thanks! Catherine Clelland.
