It’s been a while since I posted up a new album design for you guys, so putting that right today and delighted to be featuring Susanne & Paul’s album from their wedding at Edinburgh Zoo last year.
First blog post of the year so, as is customary at this time … Happy New Year folks!!! I don’t shoot my first wedding this year until the end of February so that’ll give me a good opportunity to catch up on the old blog with all the remaining fabulous weddings from last year, kicking off with the wonderful day I spent with Susanne & Paul back in August at Edinburgh Zoo … yep, you read that right … Edinburgh Zoo.
So I was sitting here the other day, looking at the very long list of weddings that I had to blog, contemplating actually being a bit selective and blogging some but not others…but then I thought, can’t do it…there’s just so many fabulous weddings I want to share and, more importantly, I couldn’t find even one that I didn’t want to share!!!
Back at the end of last year then :-), I was out at the very fabulous Mansion House, within the grounds of Edinburgh Zoo, for Lindsay & Ewan’s big day. And, as luck would have it, my visit happened to coincide with the Zoo’s “Giant Lanterns of China” display. I mean, take a look at some of these exhibits guys, certainly added an extra dimension to our after dinner bride & groom shoot.
When it comes to wedding venues, I think I’m pretty safe in saying that Edinburgh Zoo isn’t one that comes readily to mind to most couples…but you’d be missing a trick as this is in fact a fabulous place to get married, with the stunning Mansion House to host your ceremony and reception coupled with the uniqueness of the zoo itself for some really unique wedding pictures :-).
Clare & David’s wedding was also one of the rare occasions at that time of the year when I only had one wedding to shoot over the weekend, that being my busiest period from last year. Got to say that this was one of the most enjoyable weddings that I shot last year which I hope comes across in these images – fabulous relaxed day with some wonderful people.
Slightly creepy walk back to the car in the dark though at the end of the day…no lights and lots of animal noises from all directions…whooo LOL!
So, as I type this, Emily & Ryan’s wedding album is just about to head off to them down in London, complete with parent albums and their images on disk. I’ll have quite a few albums coming out over the next week or so, such is the number of weddings that I’ve shot this year so far, and I’ll be looking to share most of these with you. The guys got married at Edinburgh Zoo back in April – that was a great day all round and, for me, made all the better by that meerkat image!
Love it Mike you are a star!
Absolutely beautiful Mike – very, very impressive.
Fantastic, love the little meerkat one! Can’t wait until it’s our turn.
