FALKIRK WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Documentary wedding photography isn't for everybody, and that's totally fine. If you're looking for perfectly posed & styled pictures similar to what you might see in wedding magazines, and a photographer who'll direct you around all day, then I'm definitely not the right fit for you and there are plenty of other guys out there who'll do that.
If on the other hand, you want a photographer who'll blend into the background and capture your day in an authentic style exactly as it unfolds, then that's absolutely how I roll.
All those little looks, the laughs, the emotions and unscripted moments - the "real" stuff, in other words. That's what I capture!
I'm very honoured to be a member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) and, for the last three years, have been ranked by them No.1 in Scotland, for which I am truly grateful.
And last year, in their Artistic Guild category, I was blown away to make it into the World Top Ten!
Thank you guys!
Whether you like to party like there's no tomorrow, prefer the quieter side of life, or fall somewhere in between, I want your pictures to reflect YOU.
I'll never ask you to do anything that's outside of your comfort zone and awkward as hell.
My chilled out vibe allows you to JUST BE YOU ... whatever that may be!
Absolutely! I've been around a while now, shooting over 500 weddings across 15 years in all conditions - we do live in Scotland after all. Pouring rain, snow, dark churches, drunk guests, trashed wedding cakes (true story) etc etc - yep, I've pretty much seen it all ... and dealt with it all - you're in good hands guys!
These days, I only shoot around 25 weddings a year, so you can be assured that I'll be giving each and every wedding maximum focus both on the day itself and afterwards too working on your pictures and albums.
Although I do generally take a more hands-off approach, on what can often be a hectic day, some "couple time" pictures away from the crowd can be a good thing, if you want it. I recognise that, for a lot of couples, this can be a little daunting ... but fear not. Chilled out and natural is how we go - no cheesy grinning, no awkward stiff posing ... just be yourselves and let me add the creative spin.
Funnily enough, despite their initial reservations, most couples tell me that they do actually enjoy this part of the day!
As I said though, you don't need to do a couple shoot if you don't want to! It's your day ... do it your way.
Of course, I'll still make time for a few group shots as well, again if you want them, but the emphasis is very much on "short & sweet", as I don't think I've ever seen a couple enjoy ploughing through a list of shots as long as your arm. Oh, we'll have a bit of fun doing them as well!
Connection rather than perfection is the name of the game.
